This section is a collection of resources that I have created that I'm offering to you. Feel free to click and download but remember where you got it from! Check back often for new files. Most of my files were created using Comic Life 3 on my PC. I really enjoy the program and have found myself using it all the time and trying to think of new projects.
Before you get started in some of of the exercise in my activities may need some explanation. There is such a vast vocabulary teachers use. We teachers may use the same things but call them something different based on our exposure and experiences. Just click on the video to see me explain the different exercises.

So after playing Superhero Hunt with the older students, I decided to create something similar for the younger grades. Much like Ross' Pokemon Pathways activity, the students will move to the different signs. The teacher will choose a locomotor pattern for the students to use while traveling to the various heroes. Every minute they will change the locomotor pattern.
|
Thank you to Ross Chakrian for the inspiration to create this activity. He recently posted an activity on PE Central's Facebook page about a Pokemon Pathways activity. Cool concept where the students move from character to character using different pathways they were previously taught. If you haven't seen it go see his pictures on Facebook.
I created this super hero one and added in some fitness components along with different locomotor movement patterns when moving from hero to hero. Click the image to download your copy now (it's free!). There is color and print friendly available. Print them off, laminate, setup around the gym and watch the students have a blast. |
I have to be honest, I haven't had a chance to play this game but thought my students would enjoy it as a change of pace. This would make a great fitness activity or even for a warm-up. Feel free to use it as you see fit for your classes, just be sure to tell me thank you or send pictures if you use it!

These QR code dice a little different. Instead of using my animated gifs, they are just to simple text. You can use them any any way you see fit for your class and students. I can't wait to give them a try in my class this year.
|
So I got this crazy idea to use my animated gifs with the QR codes. If you have seen my Would You Rather Fitness activity I have the QR codes link to a demonstration for the exercise. Here is a way to use the codes in a dice game format. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Been waiting for the storm to calm down after the #PhysEdSummit 3.0 before posting this activity. Just a slight variation to my Lego Hero Fitness. This game is called Superhero Showdown and I think my students will really like it. Hopefully your students will too!
|
Thank you everyone who attending or watched my #PhysEdSummit 3.0 session. Here is the Lego Hero Fitness Game I created and revealed at the Summit. I had such a fun time sharing all my ideas and I'm hoping you guys liked it too!
|
Of course after I finished the Summit I located the Angry Birds Star Wars Fitness game. It's the exact same as Lego Hero Fitness but with the Star Wars Angry Bird characters. I promised Kevin Tiller I would make them and so I did. Feel free to use either one.

I've taken my fitness cards I created for "Bang" game and changed them a little for some new fitness activities. Right now I though of two ways you can use the cards and wrote directions to the activities. I'm sure there are many other ways the cards can be used. Please share with me your ideas and I can add it to the file.

The last few years I use this agility course with my students. They really enjoy it and to them it feels like an obstacle course. When they are all finished with the course, they are covered with sweat! We love being highly active in my school. I hope you will find this course useful. Also, I found it easier for me to use floor tape for the ladders instead of an actual agility ladder. Floor tape doesn't move.

We have played an activity called Locomotor Trail where the students will move around the perimeter of the gym and as they come to a cone there is a locomotor movement pattern on it. So, I decided to make some cool looking signs to use instead of my ugly handwriting! I made them in color or you can get them to print on black ink printers. Let me know if I need to add more skills!
|
These cards are used in a fitness activity I play with my students called Bang. To see a video of how to play this game click here. The cards can be used in more ways than just for this game. Feel free to save the file and create something fun for your students. If you create an activity please share with me and others!

In my adventure of creating activities to use QR codes I came up with this one. A fun way to in cooperate fitness with some technology. Feel free to download it and print off what you will need for your class sizes.
|
Here is another game I have created using QR codes that link to various exercises. I'm sure there are many other ways the cards can be used but I haven't written anything yet. As I develop more ways to use the cards, I will update the file. You may want to check back in a month to see if there are changes.

Here is an example of our Family Fitness flyer from our school's fitness night. I hope you will be able to use some of the info from the flyer to create your own for your school's fitness night.

We have started encouraging our students to exercise more outside of school. This year we incorporated a walk or ride your bike to school program. I put together a letter for the parents explaining our program along with a punch card for when they came to school. We also allowed for the students to count walking or riding their bike home. However they only got on punch off the card per day.
